Uma Rele is a singer, songwriter, performer for all kinds of Bollywood film songs with a repertoire of over 2000 songs by memory. She's a lively personality and a versatile singer/stylish performer. Uma's song collection include legendary Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Geeta Dutt, Noor Jahan & Kavita Krisnmurthi, Alka Yagnik, Shreya Goshal, Sunidhi Chauhan etc.

Uma is naturally gifted singer from the age of 12 from her mother Pratibha Rele, who also was a classically trained singer/film music composer. Uma has also learned kathak dancing by the renowned maestro Shree Gopi Krishna, and has trained in acting from Poona Film Institute

Uma picked up professional singing expressions & intuition very quickly and was inspired by legends thus inclined to only get more influenced by listening attentively to Lata Mangeshkar & Asha Bhonsle song styles and expressions. Close your eyes and Uma will sing to no doubt remind you of Lata/Asha memories of 60/70/80's era. Uma is truly blessed with a beautiful tone quality that is not only pleasing to the ear but reaches soul with her song expressions and unique style of performance.

Uma sings all her songs from memory and does not refer to reading lyrics and this makes it so natural for her to express the song lyrics emoting to the maximum in her exclusive performance on each & every number. She will make every effort to do any request at moments notice & will always try to put her listeners interest first before her own interest. Uma makes it a point that all the songs and music performed is not for herself but for her listeners and the idea is to make listeners feel comfortable.

Uma was born in a musical/film Industry Family. Her mother, a Regional Film Music Director. Her late Father, Manohar Rele was a Regional Film/Documentary Producer director and her late Uncle, well known by the name of Dilip Dutt, who was a renowned film comedy actor during 60's/70's.

Uma has developed over the years her own style of singing direction and is blessed with a smooth, mellow , pleasing and a beautiful voice tone quality, that of film playback singer.

Uma took up professional singing in Mumbai in early 80's. she has recorded many popular jingles & commercials for Mumbai TV & Radio. She was chosen as a leading female singer to accompany for international tour in USA, Europe & Middle East with Legend Kishor Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Hemant Kumar, Sailendra Sing. Manhar Udhas.

Uma has performed in a special O P Nayar night and was greatly praised for her performance of Asha Bhonsle numbers.

Uma enjoys live performance as it provide opportunity of a challenge that helps her communicate with live audience and this brings best out in her.
